Endodontics

The specialty of Dental Medicine that aims to treat dental pulp pathologies (commonly called nerve) is Endodontics.

Endodontic treatment consists of removing the soft tissue (pulp) that is found inside the tooth and is surrounded by hard tissue (dentin), which is responsible for tooth nutrition and sensitivity, through the blood vessels and nerves that constitute it.

After the pulp is removed, the pulp chamber and the root canal system present in the roots are properly disinfected in order to eliminate all bacteria. After being properly instrumented, the channels are able to receive the filling with a biocompatible material in order to seal the tooth from the pulp chamber to the root tip.

At the end of the treatment, the pain disappears. Incomplete devitalization is one of the causes of cysts, infections and, consequently, extractions.

In our facilities you can find the latest technology in this area, which is mechanized endodontics. It is a more recent aspect of instrumentation, mechanized instrumentation, consisting of NiTi files coupled to an electric motor.
