Pathological Anatomy

Pathological anatomy is a branch of pathology and medicine that deals with the diagnosis of diseases based on the macroscopic examination of surgical and microscopic parts for the examination of cells and tissues.

The pathologist has broad acting in medical science. Pathologists are preferably dedicated to scientific development, usually through experimental pathology. Others work preferentially in the necropsy room, in the study of the natural history of the diseases, others preferentially work in diagnostic surgical pathology and cytopathology, besides being responsible for the analysis and elaboration of reports (anatomo-pathological reports) in exams using the technique of immunohistochemistry. Those who are dedicated to the diagnostic pathology are called surgical pathologists.
