The psychiatric consultation is based on an overall assessment of the patient (physical and mental), according to the reason for the consultation. This evaluation may also result in the need to carry out other tests or complementary tests for assessment and diagnosis (such as psychological tests, laboratory tests, imaging tests such as CT or MRI), which will be discussed with the patient.

With a view to treatment, relief of suffering and greater psychological well-being, the proposed treatment proposals (medication, psychotherapy …) are discussed.

Some of these disorders may have a short duration and few symptoms, but there are other conditions that have a chronic duration and / or significant impact on the patient’s quality of life and functioning and therefore deserve specialized evaluation and guidance.
